The Spirit Sands Singers are an Anishinabe (Plains Ojibway, Plains Cree) singing group from the Swan Lake First Nation, Manitoba. The group was formed in 1997 and is comprised of family members and close friends. The name of the group comes from a small desert in central Canada  that is considered a special and sacred place by surrounding native communities and was used for Vision Quests and special ceremonies. It was also a traditional hunting territory for our ancestors. Their singing style is  referred to as:

"A Northern Style With a Southern Blast"
